Good morning! Some news of our own to start the day: BZZR is the Rams’ streaming home for the rest of the preseason, and The Sporting Tribune will follow both remaining games with live postgame shows — the first one this afternoon after the Saints. Elsewhere, Tommy Edman walked it off but the Dodgers lost Andy Pages to a fractured hand, Reid Detmers threw six scoreless and got nothing for it again, and the Padres kept rolling at Petco. Let’s get into it.

📺 A NEW HOME FOR THE POSTGAME SHOW
BZZR, the verified all-sports social platform, has a first-of-its-kind deal to serve as the Rams’ streaming home for the 2026 preseason. It carried last Saturday’s win over Kansas City and will carry the final two — today against New Orleans and Aug. 27 against the Chargers. The Sporting Tribune will follow both with live postgame shows delivering analysis, interviews and reaction from players and coaches.
That’s the first stage. The broader partnership will build team-specific podcasts on BZZR around reporters who are already at the games, practices and press conferences across all three markets.
“From the beginning, our goal at The Sporting Tribune has been to provide fans with authentic coverage from reporters who are actually at the games, practices and press conferences covering these teams every day. Our partnership with BZZR gives us an exciting new platform to take that coverage directly to fans… we want fans to feel like they’re right there with our reporters.” — Arash Markazi, founder and CEO, The Sporting Tribune
BZZR CEO Brett Weitz called the Rams agreement “a defining moment” and “a blueprint for how we scale.” Rams Chief Commercial Officer Jennifer Prince said the club moved fast when the league opened the door for teams to stream preseason games directly to fans. Today’s postgame show will also cover the Angels-Rangers series, which is streaming on BZZR as well.

⚾ FOUR STRAIGHT, AND A COST
Tommy Edman was 1-for-4 with three strikeouts when he came up in the 10th with runners on the corners and two outs. He put it in play, singled to left, and the Dodgers had their fourth straight win — a 5-4 decision that followed a sweep in Colorado and pulled them out of a stretch in which they’d lost 10 of 15.
Max Muncy homered for the 26th time, Mookie Betts drove in two in the third and Yoshinobu Yamamoto struck out nine over 6⅓ innings of two-run ball to drop his ERA to 2.61 — and got a no-decision after Kyle Hurt allowed a game-tying homer to Oneil Cruz. The night’s real news came earlier: Andy Pages took a 100 mph fastball off the hand and X-rays showed a fracture. “He’ll be out for a while,” Dave Roberts said — four to five weeks, which would return him just before the postseason. Roberts said the first priority in replacing him is center-field defense. Kyle Tucker, meanwhile, got a standing ovation in his first at-bat and drew a walk, flied out twice and reached on a grounder that set up Edman. “I loved his at-bats tonight,” Roberts said. “He controlled the strike zone.” Los Angeles is 78-51, nine up on San Diego. Tarik Skubal goes today.

⚾ NOBODY HAS IT WORSE THAN DETMERS
Two nights after scoring 18 in Houston, the Angels didn’t score through nine in Arlington. Reid Detmers gave them six shutout innings on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts — his seventh straight start allowing three earned runs or fewer — and left with another no-decision. Since June 27, the Angels have not scored more than one run in any Detmers start, and five times they’ve scored none.
Denzer Guzman finally broke it open with a leadoff double in the 10th to score Jose Siri. Then Ben Joyce — who had retired Justin Foscue and struck out Corey Seager on four straight fastballs at 101-plus — gave up an opposite-field double to Wyatt Langford that tied it. Guzman made a diving stop on Ezequiel Duran’s one-hopper that should have ended the inning, then threw wide of second, and Langford scored on the error. Rangers 2, Angels 1. It was Joyce’s first blown save of the year.

⚾ THE PADRES ARE STILL THE PADRES
Randy Vásquez has quietly become one of the more dependable arms in San Diego’s rotation, and he went seven innings Friday as the Padres opened their homestand with a 6-2 win over a Minnesota club in its own Wild Card fight. It’s the start of a six-game stretch at Petco — three against the Twins, then three against Pittsburgh beginning Monday — that will say a lot about whether San Diego holds its position in the National League race.

🏈 A NEW NO. 1 IN THE DESERT
Bishop Gorman beat St. John Bosco at Fertitta Field to take over the top ranking — the kind of result that reorders the national high school landscape and, more to the point here, one of the best annual matchups between the Las Vegas and Southern California prep programs. Both are perennial national powers, and this one went to Gorman.
